Rhodes School of Environmental Studies

The Building Brighter Futures initiative determined that enrollment at this and two other nearby schools is unsustainably low and declining. To make better use of resources, this school will close and merge into a new, combined James F. Rhodes High School in 2026.

The combined school will unite four specialized schools—Facing History High School, New Technology West, Rhodes College and Career Academy, and Rhodes School of Environmental Studies—and support a culture of respect, compassion, and self-awareness while cultivating creativity and problem-solving skills. The curriculum is designed to meet both academic and social-emotional needs, ensuring that every student is supported in reaching their full potential.
