School Details
Bard High School Early College Cleveland provides students with the unique opportunity to take rigorous courses, earn college credit and even graduate high school with an associate degree in our close-knit, intellectually vibrant community.
Our curriculum emphasizes critical thinking through writing, discussion, and inquiry, and prepares students for success in college and beyond. Opened in 2014 as a campus of Bard Early College in Annandale, NY, we are a proven alternative to a traditional high school for those ready to begin college work at age 16.
Bard Early College offers
- Free college program up to an associate degree, and 60+ credits that transfer to bachelor’s degree programs across the country.
- College instructors, typically with a terminal degree in the content area and trained in early college pedagogy and Bard Writing and Thinking practices, teaching both high school and college courses.
- A robust and engaging liberal arts and sciences curriculum developed by Bard.
- Small, writing- and discussion-based seminar classes.
- Strong academic and social-emotional student supports.
- Qualitative admissions process that selects students based on their motivation to participate and intellectual curiosity through an interview and faculty-designed assessment.
- Student empowerment in the classroom and school community.
