Our mission is to prepare adolescents to become knowledgeable, empathetic, and principled adults who think critically and act creatively on issues of local and global significance to build a just, sustainable, and peaceful world.

Our students have had a variety of prior education and life experiences. Some have seen and done more outside their neighborhoods than others. We aim to create a school that gets all students out into our local community so they can begin to build the future they envision for themselves and their community–around the Near West Side and across the world.
