Mission
The School of One is dedicated to
producing successful graduates by
offering a differentiated, individualized,
digital educational experience
embedded with both the academic and
social-emotional services needed to be
college-and career-ready in the 21st
century. Our students are part of a nontraditional
educational team approach
where they attend one of eight sites.
Each has a flexible schedule and has no
more than 20 students per session. Each
student collaborates with an educator
who works closely with them as they
progress toward fulfilling graduation
requirements.
Special Programs
What Sets Us Apart
The School of One has sites at the following high schools: Lincoln-West, James F.
Rhodes, John Adams, East Tech, Collinwood, and Glenville. We have a site that
is associated with John Marshall, located behind the old Nathaniel Hawthorne
building. Our eighth site is located at The Foundry, Cleveland’s Community
Rowing and Sailing Center. This site includes required physical activity as well as an
employment opportunity for students who attend this location.
The staff at The School of One work with each student to identify academic
needs, areas of interest and personal barriers that limit student success, and then
together we strive to eliminate them. With a strong educational plan, students
create a new path to academic, personal and social and emotional success.
Because of our flexible scheduling, our students have the opportunity to take
college courses through Cuyahoga Community College while still in high school.
With formal graduation three times a year, our students begin their college and
career paths as quickly as possible.
