Mound School

The Building Brighter Futures process has determined that Mound’s enrollment is low and declining, limiting the school’s ability to offer a robust student experience, while there are available seats nearby that are in good-condition buildings. More students in a building will allows for a higher-quality student experience.

Current Mound students will have a reserved seat at A.B. Hart, a school with a higher star rating also in a good condition building, or can enroll in the new Mound School of the Arts.

As part of the Building Brighter Futures plan, Dike School of the Arts will relocate to Mound and be renamed Mound School of the Arts next school year.

The new Mound School of the Arts will inspire a love of learning and the arts in a safe and nurturing environment. Scholars will engage in project- and problem-based learning, as well as  encores including art, music and physical education.

By welcoming scholars from Dike, the new Mound School of the Arts will benefit from blending the schools into an environment where creativity thrives and every day is a masterpiece in the making.

District and school staff are ready to help caregivers explore their options and make their choice official.
