Mission
George Washington Carver is at the heart of the Central Neighborhood and emphasizes being family oriented. One of our primary supports is social and emotional learning. Through a partnership with families and community partners, scholars gain skills to assist them with managing emotions, achieving goals, maintaining positive relationships, and making responsible decisions. These skills support an environment that allows scholars to grow academically. Team Carver offers an iPad for every scholar. With the support of the Verizon Innovative Learning Schools Initiative, scholars in grades five through eight receive additional technology support and STEM instruction, which allows them to become lifelong learners, creators, problem solvers, and tomorrow’s innovators.
