Mission
Science & Health prepares students for
college and careers in the healthcare
industry in partnership with the MetroHealth
System. Our dynamic, mastery-based
educational environment engages students
in a variety of healthcare fields and those
that support the healthcare system.
Why? The healthcare industry lacks
diversity and that’s a problem. Diversity
in healthcare goes far beyond a language
barrier. It’s about understanding the mindset
of a patient within the larger context of
culture, gender, sexual orientation, religious
beliefs, and socioeconomic realities. Our
students graduate with the skills to serve
their community in this capacity.
Special Programs
Our scholars transform themselves, and transform their community.
Our academic program is driven by equity and the highest possible learning
expectations for students. Our students have access to a wide range of experiences to
prepare them for success in college, career, and citizenship, including:
• Industry credentials, Advanced Placement courses, Project Lead the Way biomedical
science courses, and dual-enrollment opportunities at Cuyahoga Community College
to earn free college credits during high school.
• Field experiences within the MetroHealth System expose students to a variety of
healthcare professions, and those that support the healthcare system, such as human
resources, information technology, marketing and communications, and food science.
• An array of clubs, activities and amenities on the Lincoln-West campus, including a
MetroHealth School Clinic, Say Yes support services, and Wolverine Athletics.
